South Elementary has been impacted by a power outage. The district maintenance team is working with the provider to determine the source of the outage and quickly restore power. There is no estimated restoration time at the moment, but we will continue communicating with parents as the situation evolves. As of now, there is no change to today’s school schedule for South Elementary. Please know that students are safe and comfortable in sections of the campus with lighting.
Lubbock-Cooper ISD will host pre-k and kindergarten registration for the 2026-27 school year from 2:00-6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14 at the LCISD Administrative Offices (13807 Indiana Avenue)! (Please enter through Door 5 on the south side of the building, near the LCISD Police Department.)

Due to anticipated inclement weather, Lubbock-Cooper ISD campuses will release early on Friday, January 23. Elementary campuses will release at 12:00 p.m. and secondary campuses will release at 12:45 p.m. Lunches will be served, and buses will run on the earlier schedule.

Next week, LCISD 4th and 5th grade students will participate in in-school digital citizenship lessons focused on responsible smartphone use and online safety led by Bark Technologies! This program isn't just for students - Bark will host a parent session at 6:30pm on Tuesday, December 9 at Liberty High School (4530 Woodrow Road). The Bark Connected Communities Night isn't only for the parents of current 4th and 5th graders - this event is for ALL LCISD parents, and will include valuable insight and tips and tricks for navigating technology and social media as a family! School will be canceled on Friday, November 21 across Lubbock-Cooper ISD to allow the LCP family to travel in support of LCHS and Liberty HS football teams in the Area round of playoffs. All LCISD campuses, offices, and facilities will be closed. As a reminder, the district will also be closed November 24-28 for Thanksgiving Break.
Central Elementary, East Elementary, and West Elementary Thanksgiving lunches originally scheduled for Friday will be moved to Thursday, November 20. These campuses will communicate more information to families. Individual campuses will communicate with parents regarding any other activities originally scheduled for Friday.
The Pirates will play at 3:00pm on Friday at Wildcat Stadium on the Abilene Christian University campus in Abilene. The Patriots will play at 6:00pm on Friday at Shotwell Stadium in Abilene. Ticket information will be shared soon.
